Always love Dr.Allen's stories!
have no problems at all fit is great..
This story strikes a familiar chord in my life. I am in my sixties and my mother is still with us at nearly 97. She has no clue who I am, nor who she is herself. Hopefully, she will pass peacefully soon. I hope I never have such a loss of my mind.
In Valerie Allen's short story "I Remember Momma," a woman has breakfast with her elderly mother before getting her ready for a medical appointment. The use of dialogue is well done. I recommend this story for people with aging parents.
A very short story but quite nice. I was disappointed that it was only a couple of pages because I liked Miss Allen's writing.
The author has written such a realistic example of a daughter helping her mother as her mother falls into dementia with moments of awareness. My mother-in-law had Alzheimer's. I wasn't the one to provide her care, my father-in-law did. When we would go visit,he would be in a state of stress. He couldn't sleep because she couldn't sleep and it was wearing him out. Hats off to the brave men and women who do take care of their ailing parents. It is a labor of love as shown so poignantly in this short story by Valerie Allen.
